Arsonist’s Toolkit

This was one of a series of three limited run improv team posters.

The show/team/gig promotion space is wildly oversaturated, and promotion in the improv community has become a little bit of signal getting lost in a whole lot of noise.

The prevailing trend, when these posters were made, was towards big, garish, busy designs, less likely to catch the eye than to pounce on it and beat it into submission. These posters were an attempt to stand out through sheer difference of design philosophy. Where others were wild and crazy, these were stripped down, using only two colors, some simple iconography, and a pithy slugline to represent what each team was all about.
